Which electric unicycle is best for a beginner?  What features should I be looking for?  I know power is important and I would want to start on the lower end.

Are there any other features I should be concerned about as a beginner?

For a beginner, it’s best to start with an electric unicycle that has enough power to feel stable but not so much that it’s hard to control - something around 1,000 to 1,500 W is plenty. A 16-inch wheel is a great size because it’s easy to learn on and still smooth over bumps. You don’t need a huge battery, just enough range for practice sessions. Consider features like tilt-back, speed limits, and good lighting. A trolley handle and reasonable weight also make life easier when you’re off the wheel. Water resistance and a simple companion app are nice bonuses when you’re starting out.

Models like the InMotion V8S are popular beginner choices because they’re light.

If you are a smaller person - you will have harder time to brake.   Braking distance will be way longer.  To go forward, you will need to lean forward more and that might make you nervous if you are learning.

For those reasons, you might want to get a smaller wheel.
